Static Kinesis - Attracting and repulsing non-insulative objects.
Description:
Kirsten Kessler is an attractive woman of twenty-one. Her style of clothing is conservative and classy -- reflective of her personal values -- and her hair is golden blonde, offsetting her striking blue eyes. She's slightly above-average height, standing at 5'9'' and of average build. She has a pretty face, though it is often understated with minimal make-up and an elusive smile.
As Blitz, her hair is covered by a waist-length stark-white wig held back by a black headband. Her makeup and costume reflect the intensity she supresses in daily life; dark lips, long lashes, and form-fitting Lexulon in yellow and white with black accents.
Background:
Kirsten was born in Germany to Monica and Karl Kessler. At age seven her family joined the surge of Germans immigrating to America to flee Nazi oppression at home and make a new start. Karl became a plumber, but due to physical disability could only work limited hours a day, so his wife Monica was forced to take a job as well; as such, Kirsten's childhood was a lonely and tumultuous one, which only became harder when on a stormy night in 1941, Monica Kessler was taken into custody for pro-Nazi sentiment and other undisclosed charges.
The shame plagued the Kesslers for many years, and Kirsten became more reclusive as she tried to make sense of what had happened, her confusion only compounded by her unique abilities that began to manifest.
As she grew older she began searching into the truth of that night, and eventually the whole sordid story came to light; her mother was not just a Nazi sympathizer, but a Nazi spy and a superhuman to boot who worked under the codename 'Blitz'. Karl, fearful that this truth would implicate not only himself but his daughter and endanger the entire life he'd tried to build for her in America, turned his own wife in to the authorities.
In the wake of this revelation, Kirsten changed radically from a quiet young girl to a woman on a mission; by her high school graduation she was the top of her class, member of several school clubs and extracurriculars and the picturesque depiction of a bright young American, with emphasis on 'American'.
The biggest change came when Kirsten decided to rewrite her mother's legacy, patrolling the streets of New Troy as the new Blitz; not a Nazi villainess, but a guardian of justice, freedom and the American Way.
Unable to afford college on her father's modest salary, Kirsten has taken a respectable job as a secretary in City Hall to save up for her education while helping her dad with expenses.
Personality:
Kirsten has a good heart, but it can be hard to see behind the giant chip she carries on her shoulder. Her actions as Blitz often bear the guise of selflessness, but her primary motivation is her own guilt and attempts to prove herself a worthy, productive member of society. As such she can come off as cold and distant when she is focused on a particular goal. She is blunt, often a harsh critic of others as reflection of her own low self-esteem, but she means well.
Because of trust issues, she prefers to do things on her own rather than depend on others, which at times can act at odds with her desire to conform and follow rules. Despite her attempts to bury her past, Kirsten is decidedly German, though bring up this fact and you may see the full extent of her temper.
